The Museum is a member of Remember A Charity, a campaign to encourage people to remember charities in their wills. The Remember A Charity website can be found at: www.rememberacharity.org.uk

By remembering the Museum in your will, you can ensure that the important history of coal mining is kept alive for future generations to learn about and appreciate. All gifts are welcome, no matter how large or small. Together we can ensure that the heritage of one of England's oldest industries is preserved.
There are a number of ways to remember the Museum in your will. Your solicitor can advise the best way for you. You can include a gift when you first make your will, or if you later decide to leave a gift, your existing will can be changed by the addition of a codicil by your solicitor.
Three of the most common methods of leaving a gift in a will are:
- pecuniary legacy - a gift of a specific sum of money (this can be index-linked to preserve its value)
- residuary legacy - a gift of the residue (or a share of the residue) of your estate
- specific legacy - a gift of a specific property or asset, for example buildings, land or shares, etc.
If you choose to leave a gift to us in your will, please ensure that you include our registered charity name: National Coal Mining Museum for England Trust Ltd, and our registered charity number: 517325.
We do ask that if possible, your legacy is made without stating a specific project or purpose, as the Museum's needs and plans can change unforeseeably over time.
