A metal and wood horse limmer used at Kiveton Colliery, Spouth Yorkshire. The two wooden shafts would attach to either side of a pit-pony’s collar by short chains and the forked shaped metal piece would have hung at the back of the horse. The frame’s hinged bracket would be attached to coal tubs. This device meant the weight of the tub would be on the collar and shoulders of the pony where it was strongest.
