This lamp is one of J. H. Naylor of Wigan’s versions of the Marsaut lamp. Established in 1861, J. H. Naylor Ltd was known for inventing the Bifold Burner, seen on this lamp. The invention used a pair of adjustable wicks to increase the light yield. This lamp design by Naylor was on the first offical approved list published in 1913.
