Limited edition etching by artist and miner Tom McGuinness entitled ‘Women at the Pit Gates’. The image depicts four women waiting outside the colliery gates. A fifth woman is facing the viewer holding a young infant in her arms. It is unclear whether the women are gathered due to an incident at the pit or are waiting for their husbands or sons to finish their shift.
