The Samson Loader worked in roadways and headings loading coal or stone. The twin-gathering arms would scrap the mineral up the ramp and onto the central conveyor which would deposit the load onto a fixed conveyor or a coal tub.
The loader is tracked to allow the loader to move into new headings. The conveyor on this model has a straight jib that can slew from side to side by 45 degrees with a scraper chain running down it.
