Please note that we are set to temporarily pause our iconic Underground Tours, from Sunday 29 December until April 2025, to install a brand new winding engine. The Museum will remain open with a brand-new Time Tunnel experience launching in January 2025.
The Davy lamp was made by J. Cooke of Birmingham and shows the company’s stamp, the letters J C B in an inverted triangle. The tapered shape of the fuel vessel base is typical of other lamps made for the Scottich market.
