Meet a Miner Virtual Session
Get a fabulous insight into the lives of miners and their communities with our ‘Meet a Miner Workshop’. In the workshop your class will get to watch a series of videos about mining through the ages and see how conditions have changed over time then get to chat with a real life former miner over Zoom.
Pupils will understand that:
- coal was once an important everyday part of life
- coal miners needed special tools and clothing to carry out their work
- we can find out about the past through a range of sources including objects, images, documents and people
