Hands on History: Life in a Pit Village  

Immerse yourself in a 1970s mining community & explore the unique heritage of rag rugging.

During this interactive performance you will join Brenda, a miner’s wife, as she recounts her memories of growing up in a pit village and reflects on her changing community.

Share stories, socialise, and get hands on with objects from the National Coal Mining Museum’s collections, including decorative rag rugs.
