Brass Bands: Summer Series
Celebrate the association between brass bands and coal mining, with a summer series of musical performances.
Live music will be brought to you by the following bands for scheduled performances:
Sat 29 June – Sherwood Forest Brass Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3.15pm-4pm
Sherwood Forest Brass Band, are a community brass band founded in 2000, they are a friendly band family with ages starting from 4yrs to 80yrs.
Sun 30 June – Grange Moor Brass Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm, 3pm-3.45pm
A village brass band founded in 1854 with a proud heritage, Grange Moor Brass Band are a non-contesting brass band based in West Yorkshire.
Sat 6 July – Grange Moor Youth Training Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3pm-3.45pm
Grange Moor, boasts a large and successful Youth Training Band. They offer all aspects of a brass band completely free of charge so that any child wishing to learn to play an instrument is able to do so – this includes their music, instruments and tuition during rehearsals. Part of our Youth Arts Festival.
Sun 7 July – Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3pm-3.45pm
Huddersfield and Ripponden Brass Band is a community and family oriented brass band based in Golcar, Huddersfield and is the senior band of the Huddersfield Youth Brass Ensemble Association.
Sun 14 July – Dodworth Colliery Brass Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3pm-3.45pm
Dodworth Colliery Brass Band is celebrating 188 years of making music and supporting their local community in 2024, they are a friendly band that plays as a team.
Sat 20 July – Hade Edge Band
11.45am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-2.15pm & 3pm-3.45pm
Hade Edge Band, situated in the village of Hade Edge on the tops above Holmfirth, has a history spanning over 115 years. The first section band not only perform the brass band classics, they also innovate with new and dynamic arrangements from a variety of composers.
